Covid-19 Incidence in Cyprus
When these graphs were started back in March (seems like half a lifetime ago) there wasn't any web-sites tracking the growth of what is now knon as covid19 (the disease) and SARS-CoV-2 (the virus).
However, there are now lots of sites giving detailed country information that is better than the authors of cyprusrocks.eu can be arsed to. The graphs, have, therefore been discontinued (much as we hope the virus will be in due course).
We're sure you can find your own sources, but, for what it's worth, we recommend the following:
At the moment, provided the incidence of the virus remains stable, climbing in Cyprus will restart on 21st May. Please take sensible precautions at the climbing sectors:
- Avoid any sectors that seem busy (i.e. keeping 2m away from other teams would be difficult). Even at Diarizos it is usually possible to find a sector of the rock that is quiet.
- Use a decent hand sanitizer before and after climbing a route (even if a sector is deserted)
- Don't leave any trash. Note that banana skins and cigarerette butts are trash.
